Kameizumi Junmai Daiginjo Genshu "Le Grande Voyage"

This Junmai Daiginjo is made in Kochi, Japan by the beloved Kameizumi Brewery, known for their experimental style. Kochi prefecture is a pioneer in sake yeast, and this sake features their proprietary strain, AA41, which survived a grand excursion both to outer space and the deep sea. It was cultivated for 4 months 6200 meters under the sea and additional 10 days 400,000 meters above earth.

Made also with local Kaze Naruko sake rice, first developed in 1998 but has since gone out of use for its difficulty to grow. Today, Kameizumi Brewery is the only brewery still committed to this unique rice and there are only a few farmers who grow it, one of which is a brewer of this sake. Le Grande Voyage embodies both Kameizumi Brewery’s local pride and aspirations beyond Japan.
