A richly complex trumpet guinomi which gives me baroque vibes in the contrast of dusty maroon and deep--almost black--olive green. This is set off by crystal complexes of antique gold and icey pale blue. Inside the cup, a frozen crystal structure. This unique guinomi makes me feel like I'm in a 17th century palace, left empty in midwinter. These complex natural colors are the gorgeous result of Benio's custom glazes.

Her delicately crafted, paper-thin ceramic feels like the barest boundary between lips and sake. The narrow guinomi guides the aroma to the top which is large enough to allow your nose enter the glass. The generous 3.5 oz capacity allows for a satisfying pour between refills and the widened top enriches the sake by letting it flow more gently on to your tongue.

This work is handcrafted by Ehime-trained Tokyo artist Benio Tomishima.

Benio is compensated in proportion to American retail pricing, in order to afford her a fair percentage of Sunflower sales.
