This beautiful sakazuki is splayed with an infinite number of tiny dots, swirling about on a turquoise landscape like planets in a tropical galaxy.
The delicate, paper-thin ceramic feels like the barest boundary between lips and sake. The wide mouth of the cup makes sake taste sweeter, and the gentle angle of entry created by the shallow sakazuki lets the sake flow over the tongue slowly, enhancing body and mouthfeel.
These cups are handcrafted by Ehime-trained Tokyo artist Benio Tomishima.
