Are you interested in learning more about sake in a private session, where you can ask any question you'd like, or even let the class take whatever direction you want it to take?
Maybe you just want to learn more about the history and application of hot sake, and see for yourself what temperatures and styles you like best warm-- and at what temperature? Maybe you love sushi and sashimi, and you'd like to learn more about sake specifically in the context of pairing at sushi bars? Or maybe you're starting from square 1, new to sake but curious, and you want a general overview of the various types and styles.
Options exist to design a class around Sunflower's available glass pours as well as a special set of bottles for you to take home afterward. All sake purchased as part of the class and by attendees in the following week are 10% off retail price, to help get you started with homework!
Rates start at $80 for the first 1-2 people + $30 for each additional person, for an hour long session + time for Q&A. This includes at least 4 x 1.5oz pours drawn from the glass pour menu. If additional bottles need to be pulled for the class (for instance, a daiginjo class), they'll be discussed in advance and charged at the discounted rate.
The instructor, Nina Murphy, is the proprietor of Sunflower Sake and is experienced in both wine and sake. Her credentials are as follows:
