Dassai Blue Junmai Daiginjo "50"

You know what?
Dassai Blue 50 is a damn good deal. it's a great junmai daiginjo, made primarily of Isbell Farms' Yamadanishiki rice from Arkansas, and I adore so many of the people involved in its production. it's no surprise that this Hyde Park-crafted sake tastes just right. It's incredibly well honed by a phenomenal team.Â
This fruity, smooth junmai daiginjo costs less than the average imported honjozo, but it offers a cacophony of peach, maraschino cherry, honeysuckle, pineapple and banana notes, all wrapped up in a harmonious brocade of fruit and floral. Compared to standard (Japanese-made) Dassai it's a bit brighter, more acidic, less alcohol, and a whole lot fresher...it's traveling a much shorter distance, after all.Â
If you're fed up with the rising costs of everything but you love a good daiginjo, give it a try. It's $50 flavor at $28.
