This brooding sakazuki features a deep, glassy coffee interior with a shimmering aura of ebbing brass & gunmetal waves leading up to a turmeric latte rim. The intense coffee center seems so richly colored that it couldn't possibly be shallow.
The delicate, paper-thin ceramic feels like the barest boundary between lips and sake. The wide mouth of the cup makes sake taste sweeter, and the gentle angle of entry created by the shallow sakazuki lets the sake flow over the tongue slowly, enhancing body and mouthfeel.
These cups are handcrafted by Ehime-trained Tokyo artist Benio Tomishima.
Benio is compensated in proportion to American retail pricing, in order to afford her a fair percentage of Sunflower sales.
