A summer-only junmai ginjo nama from a small brewery in Gonohe, Aomori: far, far northern Japan, nearly as far as you can go before jumping across the strait to Hokkaido!

Jyoku produces light, lifted sake in the Nanbu Toji style (much like Mutsu Hassen or Akabu), with a cute polar bear label. With the image of "deep flavor without being heavy," it is brewed using local Aomori-grown Hanafubuki rice and Aomori's own Mahoroba Jun yeast, which produces a gorgeous aroma. It has an excellent balance of soft ginjo aroma, rice flavor, sweetness and acidity. It has a soft yet refreshing taste with a hint of acidity, and when served on the rocks, the acidity stands out, making the contours even clearer, allowing you to enjoy an even more refreshing taste on a piping hot day.
