Tokoname-ware is a coveted source of clay renowned in both tea and sake, and said to make the beverage taste better, for the way it absorbs and becomes seasoned by the drink. I recommend seasoning this tokkuri (after washing) to your personal taste by warming it with your favorite sake, then letting it steep with that sake overnight.
