An utterly lovely set of 3 sakazuki which will match gorgeously with any gold-accented Kutani tokkuri. On a semi-glossy black background, a silver-bronze pattern of... chrysanthemums? sunflowers? and wiggles. This is not *ultra-fine fine fine* kutani ware, it has a looseness and casualness, without being clumsy, that I think is adorable and charming.
The interior is a perfectly shiny gold, with charming, deep bronze tones of age encroaching on two of the three cups. You could polish these out, but why?
Underside is hand-painted with the "Nine Valleys" Kutani mark, indicating its origin in Ishikawa Prefecture.
Capacity roughly 15ml, size 4cm by 4cm.
