Fukui brewers' skill with gohyakumangoku rice is evident in this lovely release. Light-bodied yet beguilingly full-flavored, making for a truly satisfying junmai. For me, this sake has strong notes of dried banana, rye bread and toasted nuts.
Drinks well with most Japanese foods when heated, especially umami-rich shellfish. This sake, like all others from kokuryu, are designed to be enjoyed heated.
