Vintage Japanese unglazed pottery sake set, including sake bottle (Tokkuri) and 1 larger sake cup (guinomi- suitable for sake or tea) of Bizen make (wood fired kiln, Okayama prefecture). Body is made of iron rich clay. The red markings (hidasuki) result when the pots are wrapped in rice straw and placed in a box (saggar). After the box and straw burn off, red markings are left. The potter's mark is stamped on the bottom.
